This year’s 36th annual Brookside Art Fair starts Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1st! This is the first art fair of the year and you will not only be able to see amazing artists featured there are also culinary arts - yes, we mean food! It’s a family-friendly event with a wide variety of children’s activities that your kiddos will enjoy like face painting, balloon animals and so much more. 

To celebrate art fair season, come stop by our store on Saturday, April 30th for complimentary champagne, exclusive sale items, some exciting deals, and pop-ups from some local Kansas City vendors. Everly Rae and KC Cookie Gal will be joining us with some adorable handmade cards and delicious cookies.

We feel these partnerships not only grow our brand but help grow other small KC businesses as well. Messner Bee Farm explains this brand perfectly because they literally keep bees in the KC metro area. “We focus on natural beekeeping practices and bring you products made with beeswax and honey from happy bees!” says owner Rachael. They sell lip balm, beard oil, deodorant, solid perfume, and if you’re hungry, raw honey of course! So stop by our store and grab a lip tint -- with fall right around the corner, we need to keep those lips unchapped! 

Tucker & Scout, created by Melissa Padavic,  handmakes one-of-a-kind earrings out of polymer clay, which is incredibly lightweight. These earrings are fashion staple pieces that everyone needs to add to their wardrobe. With the bright colored rainbows to the funky shapes and patterns -- your friends will be dying to have a pair too! 

After Another, small business owned and run by Alyissa Johnson, who creates prints that we feature at our stores. A fan favorite is the ‘Empowered Women, Empower Women’ print that would look amazing framed in your home office. Alyissa is a graphics designer and self-taught hand-lettering artist. She’s currently on the search for her next adventure and is open to freelance so give her a shout if you’re looking for some graphic design needs!

But wait, there’s more -- it wouldn’t be a celebration without some treats from local KC vendors! Everyone enjoyed coffee from Hitides Coffee, Boba Tea from Bruu, and burgers from Shake Shack, we know shopping can work up an appetite. 

After a few words from our fearless owner, Emily Bordner, said a few words about EB and Co. and thanked everyone for all of the support the event came to an end with photos, videos and lots of shopping! 

We continued celebrating all weekend long with 15% off for anyone who stopped by and a free gift at checkout! It was a blast being able to see all our friends back in the store and we want to give a big thank you to KES Studio for helping plan an unforgettable Grand Opening weekend for us.

It’s getting warmer and warmer each day and scoop neck tanks are coming out to play! Pair a scoop neck with thin to medium weight chains and single charm necklaces like our Gold Petite Chain Necklace or Gold Bar Necklace. 

We’re always here for a v-neck look, especially in the summer. These can be tricky to pair a necklace with because of the V shape but, that’s what we’re here for! A simple, dainty layered necklace or chain can complete your v-neck top like our Hannah Vance Rhinestone Layer Necklace. Add a cute skirt and sandals and you’ll be ready for a flirty day date with your boo! 

Do you have a wedding coming up? You might have chosen to wear a straight-neck dress. Keep it simple if you’re pairing a necklace with this look and choose a short, thin collar style necklace or chain that has a small, minimal charm. One of our favorites is the Hannah Vance Pearl Collar Necklace - this will complete your wedding look in a very elegant way! 

Another favorite look, especially for wedding guest dresses, is the sweetheart top. Because of the lower dip in the neckline, you can have fun with more of a statement necklace.
